A calmer, more grounded communication surface
Slate is a premium modular & customizable communication board system designed to reduce visual harshness, add tactile orientation, and support clearer, more consistent spelling experiences for the parents and practitioners helping nonspeaking communicators.
- Screen-light physical board + linked digital app
- Raised letters and tactile feedback
- Tuned contrast designed to stay easy on the eyes
- Built for daily use by parents, caretakers, and practitioners
*Some users do better when communication starts away from a bright screen. Slate was built for those moments.

Not just letters on a board
A basic stencil can show the alphabet.
Slate is built to shape the whole communication experience.
The board pairs tuned contrast, raised letters, tactile give, and carefully engineered spacing to create a surface that feels calmer to look at and more grounded to use.
For some users, that difference matters right away.
Bright screens can create glare, reflection, and sustained visual strain.
Slate offers a screen-light option for the moments when less visual harshness and more tactile orientation may help support engagement.

Designed for Real Use
- Large, easy-to-press letter inserts
- Built-in side handles for stability and grip
- Wooden face for warmth and durability
- Whiteboard back surface for visual supports, schedules, or quick writing
- Hidden stylus / dry erase holder built into both handles
Designed to support calmer, clearer communication
— Easier on the eyes
Slate is designed to offer contrast without glare and visibility without visual aggression.
— More tactile orientation
Raised letters and differentiated action keys help create a more physical, touchable communication surface.
— More grounded feel
A floating insert system rests on a silicone membrane, allowing subtle give under pressure for a softer, more anchored touch.
— Built for real sessions
Slate was designed for the repeated daily use of parents and practitioners supporting communication over time.
— Physical + digital flexibility
Use the physical board when a screen feels like too much. Use the linked digital layout when portability or tracking becomes more useful later.
Designed For
- Autistic children and adults
- Non-speaking or minimally speaking
- Occupational and speech therapy settings
- Classroom and homeschool environments
- Families building communication

How Slate supports the experience
— Tuned contrast
Recommended color pairings are chosen to stay clear and visually engaging without feeling harsh.
— Raised letter definition
Letters are designed to look sharp and feel easy to locate.
— Floating insert system
The insert sits on a silicone-backed membrane that adds subtle give and micro-resistance under touch.
— Precision frame spacing
The front frame is engineered to reveal the insert beneath it in a way that sharpens the surface visually and feels intentional to the hand.
— Linked digital option
Each layout can also be used digitally on an iPad, giving families and practitioners flexibility as needs change.
Start physical - Add digital when it fits
The included digital application is not there to replace the board. It is there to extend it.
For some users, physical access is the better place to begin. The screen-light surface, tactile orientation, and spaced frame design can make the experience feel easier to stay with. Later, the linked digital layout can support portability, continuity, and long-term data tracking.
Slate is built as a system, not a one-format compromise.

OUR ORIGIN
Intuitive Flow began when Omry worked closely with autistic people fighting to communicate, one letter at a time.
In helping others find a voice, he found his own.
From that experience came a mission: to build tools and environments that bring autistic and neurodivergent people more ease, dignity, and possibility.
FAQ
Slate is designed for parents and practitioners supporting nonspeaking communicators, especially when a screen may feel too harsh or a flat stencil may feel too limited.
Initially it was designed as a letter board for nonspeaking autism.
For some users, maybe. For others, the physical board may feel easier to use because it offers a more tactile, screen-light experience. Slate includes both so you have flexibility.
No. Communication outcomes depend on many factors, including the user, the setting, and the skill of the support partner. Slate is designed to support a calmer, clearer, more grounded experience.
Slate is a system, not just a board that combines tuned visual contrast, raised letter definition, tactile give, precision frame spacing, and a linked digital layout in one system.
Yes. Custom color options are available on request.
We make every effort for it to help a wide range of users, but no single tool is right for everyone.
Slate is designed as a premium option for users and support teams who benefit from a lower-harshness, more tactile communication surface.
